
It also allowed me to meet and learn from some fantastic chefs. It really was the best thing I’ve ever done, purely for the reason that it got me to experiment. But, when the cooking starts you just forget about everything around you, and then that’s when I became more confident and started to realise that I could be as good these big chefs.ĭid Masterchef change you, did it make you more confident? I thought I’m never going to get through. Within the first group I was with, I was the youngest and the rest were all big chefs, head chefs, from here, there and everywhere and they talked so confidently that I believed they were much better than me. You were sitting in that room at the back, where they always show you sitting and you can hear all the chefs talking around you. I didn’t enjoy the start of it I’ve got to admit, it was very intimidating. What chef nowadays gets to cook whatever they want, regardless of budget, regardless of waste, regardless of anything?
